Artist Biography, Lynn F. Walker

Growing up in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, the salt air has always been a consistent part of my life. Summer memories inspire me with the colors and patterns found on crowded beaches. Children are also a major part of my compositions. Without painting specific facial features, I try to capture the essence of a child’s joy of discovery.

I have a Master’s degree from Boston University and an undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to study drawing and painting at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. The compositions of Degas and Bonnard and the colors of Sorolla continue to inspire me.

I have had two sold-out shows atThe Gregory Gallery in Darien. I have also exhibited at The Cooley Gallery,The Mystic Maritime Museum and the BARE Exhibit at Pfizer. Other shows include the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and the Alexey von Schlippee Gallery of Art, UCONN.

Our family has vacationed in St. Barthelemy and I have exhibited at La Galerie La Vielle Case, in Gustavia, as well as two other galleries in France.

Other shows and awards include acceptance to the National Juried Show of The Bowery Gallery in New York City, The Connecticut Women Artist Show and The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.

I presently show at The Christina Gallery in Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard,The Blue Heron Gallery in Wellfleet, MA, The Lily Pad Gallery in Watch Hill, Rhode Island and The Tradewinds Gallery in Mystic, CT.
